I need some help pricing my car for insurance, at the minute its valued at £1000 but if i send 6 pictures in to them with a value i apparently get that price "guaranteed" 😃
Anyway its standard,89 1.8 clipper aside from my winter alloys and chrome bumpers, handles and side stripes. Its got power hood and windows. Mileage is 120,000
and one with my summer steels.
any help appreciated £1000 is 10 times more than a paid for it but it was just a shell and engine
Cheers kurt

If it was mine I would be looking at the £1800 mark for agreed valuation.
"if i send 6 pictures in to them with a value i apparently get that price "guaranteed""
I had to fill out a form about the condition of car, send in 6 pics and pay a small fee (mine was £15)

The insurance company is heritage. I
have been with them for a few years now but never do the agreed value.
I noticed the price on my insurance was £1000, which is not going to get me much if the car is (god forbid) stolen, damaged etc…….
The lady I phoned didn't mention a fee, she just wanted 6 photos and a rough guide price from an owners club or car valuer.

I'd punt for more if you can, cabbys are creeping up.

I have had mk1`s now for around 15 years (hard tops and cabbys) and have owned this one for 5 years but have never paid more than £500 for my mk1`s, there usually knackered and need lots of work.
I'm getting to old for that now, so if anything happened to this mk1 I would like to be able to replace it with an equivalent that needs maybe a small amount of work , just to personalise it but the price of mk1`s is as you say creeping up and £1000 ain't gonna get me to much.

Send the pics of each side, front, rear, interior, odometer and engine bay, all the pics need to be taken correctly from the side as they don't want any from angles.
Get good pics in good light and then fill in the modifications form and the condition form honestly.
You ask for the value but they don't necessarily have to agree.
Aim slightly higher than you want and check the market to get comparison values.
All well worth the effort as without it you will get pennies back, God forbid anything happened :-(
