Helios Blue MK1 GTI Tin Top....

Maybe a daft question…

Looking to run a MK1 GTI Tin Top, have the Cab GTI in Helios Blue so would like the 'real' car for a matching pair. Sad…? Maybe.

I know the MK1 GTI Tin Top in Helios Blue are rare so…

Would anyone know of a car sat, unloved or loved that needs work the owner may be willing to sell please…?

Hens teeth and rocking horse poo are easier to find

There was a campaign one parked next to me the show. Totally standard and a nice chap owned it. I don't believe he was about to let it go though.

Just done an eBay search and 7k for a mk2 16v. No mk1 in blue. If I see one I will post but to be honest I rarely see any mk1s these days let alone a specific version.

I know, rare as my ex wife not asking for money, MK1 doesn't answer back though… oooh meow!

I can wait, car doesn't have to be right NOW..
but I want one!

Something somehow will turn up, even if it's been modded to the max, enough parts available from this great club to restore it and use it daily.

They are out there so no doubt one will turn up.

I picked up my helios gti project towards the end of last year for not a huge amount of money.
Does need lots of love though.

I'll be selling mine soon but it doesn't need any work

I think that's well over priced now at £4,200 considering it needs a full restoration. 🤔

Auction ended early on this one,  wouldn't have minded seeing what it would have sold for

best of luck with your search, its hard enough trying to find a nice mk1, but to find a nice helious blue takes the rarity up a notch, but never impossible.

I know bud, searched that the other day, I have also tried getting in touch with DVLA. was too honest for my own good, just asked if the y would allow me the information so i could get in touch, didn't read up properely on the criteria beforehand. Its a shame as I would try my best to get her back. Thanks for the reply.
