Mini. M40.

It broke down. Major panic and cos I wasn't with a break down service I pushed it off the motorway down an emergency vehicles only access.

Hated motorways for years after that. Now I do 40k a year on them

Brown Mk2 Escort Popular - M6 & M55 to Blackpool!

Nasty car!!!  :P

Looks quite cool to me. Did you ride the big dipper whilst you were there

Did the run to Blackpool from Derby loads of times as a yoof. Loads of different mates in different cars. Amazing we all didn't die loads of times looking back on it  :o  ;)

Vauxhall chevette van on the M27 1989, in red with white panels, lowered, spax shocks, white 8 spoke wheels, ford escort 1.6ltr crossflow engine, modified propshaft, twin choke webber, single box cherry bomb exhaust and a goosed 2ltr E gearbox that used to jam up when you put it in reverse, eventually I cut a hole in the gearbox tunnel/carpet and carry a spanner so i could whip the selector cover off (4 bolts) and put it back in neutral, no seriously !! :ocf_emoticons__BangHead:, apart from that it was a beast

In 1988 I jumped in my Mk2 Escort and drove from Preston to Horsham on a Friday evening to see a young lady who I'd met on holiday. Id never been before, had no recovery, parents were on holiday (no back-up) and I didn't know where her house was!
A dip of the oil and I was off! The car was excellent, there and back without a heartbeat. The difference between the two Escorts was unbelievable!!

Popular vs Ghia, no contest.
