I am pleased to inform you that i have been driving the cabriolet since last saturday without major self-driving issues.
It was seemingly catching on the tubing surrounding the cable, it has been cut away and i haven't had a problem since
(TOUCH WOOD!!!!!!!!! I am driving in rush hour again tomorrow so watch it happen then, just my luck. If you witness anymore major traffic in Newport tomorrow morning or after 5pm, it's just me, sat in the outside lane, jus chillin with my effed motor.)
I'm confused why that was the issue since it was a new cable but im not going to ask an inanimate object anymore questions if it's resolved.
The belts and welding have been done along with a change of the flange in the carb, when i picked it up it broke in two, THANKS PREVIOUS OWNER, LOVE YA!!!! LOVE HOW WELL YOU TOOK CARE OF THIS CAR, THANKS BUD!!!
It''s going back in to have the timing/mixture sorted this weekend because it's running so rough it's embarressing.
It needs a few little bits replacing but i can't help but get excited for new wheels - BUT WHAT????, new suspension (apex or kw) and sort the interior….somebody stop me before i have a beautiful car that doesn't run properly.
I'm sure a lot of you know a thing or two about that!
Anyway we had a glimpse of sun shine yesterday but i was too unwell to manually draw back the roof (relay missing) to air it and actually witness what it's like without it's clothes on…
in good time. ¬_¬

Great news, my cabby did the same thing when I changed the throttle cable over, it was catching on a loose bit on the carb and making it interesting to try holding on the breaks or change gear without it redlining for too long.
Glad to hear it's getting better.

Excellent news Anna, hopefully problems are a thing of the past soon so you can just enjoy it
It's great what some previous owners do with their cars, always surprises me. It's generally your second largest purchase but some people just don't care!

Hopefully! I am beginning to restore some faith in it now which is always pleasant.
I can't believe the state on this one, on general inspection it was great!
I had to delete the chaps number because i know i would have had a few innapropriate things to say to him otherwise.
I'm sorting it all bit by bit and i'll be the one laughing if i were to sell it for a little more than he did,
just not very impressed with his dishonesty!

Sadly not everyone is honest. However, the more time goes on the less issues you'll have - they are reliable cars these, just need some TLC no and again
