Can anyone tell me who supplies the tool for depressing the followers on a 1.8 8V engine with solid lifters?
I've tried a few sites without success maybe due to not knowing what it's proper name is, but anyway I could do with one and also where do I buy shims?
No.4 exhaust valve is very loud and it is at the stage where I ned to sort it.
Thanks.

Hi,
Could be wrong but believe it is made by Hazet. Let me know if you find one at a sensible price.
AVS http://www.vwspares.co.uk/g1other.php list the shims.

If it's Hazet then the price won't be sensible, but the quality will be first class!

Hi all
Back from our French trip and 2000 miles no problems and now driving even better , but we do get noisy tappets on start up , shim wear or ? only 64000 on the clock genuine and no oil used on our jolly , will be keeping for a long time and the MGA will have to be rested
Cheers Colin
