Mk1gti rebuild

I have had my 1982 mk1 gti since 1988 and it's now clocked up 99k . It's all original and now needs to be restored, I'm looking for a company who specialise in this type of work .  Thought this may be the best place to ask .

It will help to put whereabouts you are located.
That way if someone near you has experience they can post up.
But if distance isn't a factor as to where you'd take the car to be restored then it gives you a wider choice of restorers.
The other question is can you do some of the works yourself to save money as I'd guess a full restore isn't going to be cheap.
