Sprucing up the car, few questions people

Evening all,

So today I have spent mostly cleaning the car and getting the odd jobs tidied away. My biggest bug bear at the minute is the 'greying' of my bumpers and wheel arch plastics. Can anyone recommend a decent product or 'tricks of the trade' to get them up to top condition and black? I know there are millions of products out there, in this case I need something to blacken pretty darn good.

Cabby people - What at would you recommend for a roof product, for general protection etc?

Believe it or not peanut butter is good! I'd go for the smooth variety for obvious reasons - it's the natural oils in the peanut that do the magic

If they are too far gone the only way is using a heat gun. Plenty of guides on you tube for this ( and the peanut trick!)

You can use a heat gun too. Hold it 30-40cm form the bumper on a lower heat-see them become black again!!

Autoglym plastic dressing is good stuff also look up something called G Tecniq C4 trim restorer its not cheap but it is very very good

I've had good results with Back to Black bumper spray - comes in an aerosol can, and smells faintly of furniture polish. Spray on and immediately wipe off with a microfibre cloth  and it brings the original colour back quite nicely. Even works on the white marks you get from getting polish on the trim, though you might need a couple of applications. Seems to be mostly silicone?

Roof protection: is it vinyl or mohair? You shouldn't need anything for a mohair roof as they have a butyl rubber layer bonded to the underside of the outer skin - just wash it with warm water and use a stiff brush to remove any marks.

303 is in my opinion the best thing for anything plastic on a car. Not only will it restore colour but it's a UV protectant so will also keep it's colour.

+1 for the heat gun then follow it up with Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer will look like new and last

Deffo some good options there, I really appreciate your suggestions! I have heard the peanut trick before but not so familiar on the heat gun option!

Yeah back to black products are good and make a difference but you have to use them every couple of washes.

Renovo products have good results on my vinyl hood the cleaner and then proofed seems to do nicely.
