Speedo 160MPH??

Hi people
Since selling the mk2 and buying my Clipper I'm selling loads of my mk2 bits, whilst going through the parts in the shed I came across a speedo that I removed from a very early GTI, I've noticed it goes upto 160MPH? but realised I've ever seen 140MPH ones??
or was this standard fitment in the early ones?? or have I just lost the plot??

Just to add to this I thought the farmer (long story! it was pulled out of a field after sitting there for 10+ years) said it was only a 1.6GTI?

Must be kph or from a mk2 surely.

Mk2 16v clocks of you had the plug that goes into it, can mod them

It's defo MPH so 16v then? Yes I do still have the wiring loom from it  
Better keep that then, also got a PB? code 8v with all the digi injection sys & loom, so would make a good winter project for next year??
No wonder I got so much stuff! just can't let it go  

yes only 16v got 160mph, the rev counter should go up to 8k as well. if 7k its had 16v speedo fitted to 8v cluster
