Hi ppc.

That's a good idea, thank you.  There's a little fluctuation in price depending on the spec of the MKI, maybe 20 quid either side, so I'll give prices for your specific '83 GTi tintop…

Stormshield (Lightweight outdoor cover, short-term use) Available in grey only - £219

Stormshield+ (Heavy duty outdoor cover, all year round protection) £269

Prestige (Lightweight indoor cover) Available in black only - £219

Prestige+ (Heavy duty indoor cover - 15 colours and logo options available) £269

All prices are assuming single colour and no logo so should be taken as a starting price, they can go up depending on the options you choose. Prices include tax and delivery and are shown *without* paid members discount.

Hope that helps

Hi Amit,

I've been looking for a picture of our covers on the MKI and typically, can't find one.  We are delivering one to a customer before Christmas though so I'll see if I can get some pictures of that one on the car for you.

All our covers are cut to patterns taken in the old fashioned tailoring tradition. There's no guesswork and we take pride in giving a perfect fit.  I've attached a pic of an indoor and outdoor cover so you can see examples of the type of fit we provide. Sorry they're not on a MKI, I'll get some pics on the right car as soon as I can.  Hope you got your money back on the cover that didn't fit

No didnt get my money back :(

some BS excuse about the fcat that I had non standard wheels on it so was throwing of the fit, when infact the cover was too short and half the tail was left uncovered.

I quick scan through my emails tells me it was a coveryourcar/coverzone stormforce cover.

Never dealing with those cowboys again

Don't think my pic uploads worked either… sorry, I'm a noob.

If there's anything non-standard on cars we cover, we would always ask for photos and possibly measurements too to ensure a good fit

Here is a pic of my cover your car cover.

As you can see, not particularly tailored.. more of a one size fits all.

The black line shows the seem, and red line shows where it should be.

Because of this, it was a tight fight across the bonnet so heavy rain would push down on the bonnet and hoike up the back.

Yes, I had wider wheels on the car, but cant see how that would make the cover too short.

This pic shows the tight fight over the bonnet

They wouldnt give me a refund because I had used the cover over night.

Yours do look better fitted.

If you can get a pic of a mk1 cover, I would be interested in one.

You know how these things work, Amit. I can't comment on a competitor's products blah blah etc….

I will say this though, that's definitely not the sort of tailored fit we would aim to provide. As soon as I can get you that pic on a MKI I'll post it up here.

They do look a good fit, especially on that R8!  :o

I have one from 'another' supplier and they're good quality but have similar fitting issues as Amit mentions. The big issue for me on one of them was it was to fit a MK2 Golf 16v and as you may all know, they have a bee sting aerial on the roof. Naturally I removed this but I would have expected a pocket in the cover to fit over the base. Instead the cover was exceptionally tight in this spot and I had to put some foam over it to help prevent it ripping through the cover.

I had similar on a Porsche 944 cover that didn't fit well either with too many tight spots.

So the moral of my garbled story is! - Price is one thing, but from experience it would be worth paying extra for one that fits properly, and as already mentioned, if it doesn't, it will flap in the wind and scuff your paint - I learnt that the hard way too :(
