Rear brake drum kit

Post

Ive finally done my first bit of mechanical work on my car. Ive removed the rear beam from my cabby.
Its off to the powder coaters tomorrow to be blasted and painted. Im after a full drum kit for both sides to replace the very worn old ones.
Could someone tell me the best place to get the full kit that il need to install the complete set up.

Cheers

Many Thanks Taron‹

Is there anyone out that could point me in the right direction to buy the right backing plate for my car. Seeing as i don't know if i can get hold of a complete package il buy the bits separately.
Also in the pictures what is the grey and black part attached to backing plate.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Get in touch with funkster on here, he runs classic-vw.co.uk look at the adds on the home page for his web site. I believe there are powder coated ones for £40 on his web site. His service is first rate.

Grey and black bit is the wheel cylinder. It's the part that pushes the shoes out so that your brakes actually work. I got a pair from EPC for £15 so for the money its worth replacing them while you have it off.

That makes sense, as i was getting confused with something hydraulic. Im replacing all of my brake parts so il get some new ones. Don't suppose You'd know the right backing plate to buy off vw heritage?

We can only do the right side rear backing plate sadly - the left is currently unavailable - we are working at getting a supplier to produce this for us.

Hope that helps slightly
