Opinions please

I'm not a huge lover of eBay, but I've came across this, wheels I'd have to change, bar that does I seem ok?

Looks nice mate but pictures never tell the whole story.

Get yourself along to have a look at it would be my advice. Is it within budget?

I think the helios is defo worth a look mate, all the best.

You need to visit, the advert is well written. The minor imperfections he mentions are common to a lot of golfs and not much to worry about.

Stunning car, as expected.

Shared view as the rest - You really need to try and get a look at it, hopefully a little drive around to!

Yeah they don't bother me to much, I don't mind doing the odd bolt on bit, rust really is my main concern if I'm honest

Looks ok, agree, the wheels will have to go.

Was looking at this one myself. Go and have a good look at it. Check rear chassis legs, axle mounts. Check where the clutch cable goes through the bulk head. O/S inner arch where the breather pipes come through, check sills, fuel filler, around the sunroof, make sure it opens/closes etc…….. the list goes on. I know it seems like a lot but it's an old car after all.

Top mounts look like they might need replacing but that's a minor thing. Could be indicative of other things though?

Go for a viewing though, if you're a massive distance away then maybe someone nice on here and local will go and have a look for you

guess im not far away from wolverhampton….. I could take it apart for you? lol (if you get stuck) - I'll turn up in a jumpsuit, with a toolkit, axle stand and jack lol

one thing i noticed, is that helios blue didn't come with green interior, it was silver and black and looks like cam cover is missing? scuttle panel plastic missing too, VIN tag in wrong place.

If you can't go and see it then imagine in your head it's worth 15% to 20% than the seller has suggested.
(even the most honest person gets it wrong) but how many of those are there?  

Then put an 'Offer' in according to that figure!

Worth a look as others have said. There is no picture of the front interior so the seats might be knackered.

Seats wrong colour as already said which is strange unless previous ones were worn and these are replacements, plus some pictures are old ones as there has not been any snow yet this winter in Midlands. Looks like Golf enthusiast as there is a MK2 & Mk3 in  background. Looking on eBay account does not appear to have done any transactions for 3 yrs, but still got to be worth a look.
