Everyone had a good week?
Mine was okay right up until the point I had a mini stroke on Thursday while standing in a client's kitchen.

I hope you soon recover Mr Funk, I had a bit of this title some years back with a twisted carotid artery which was a suspect stroke for a while.

Cheers for the love chaps.
So, as you can probably imagine, the last couple of weeks have been decidedly wonky.

Three weeks ago I was casually standing in a client's kitchen when I started slurring then fell over.
At first we thought it might be an almighty sugar crash but I've got no history of anything like that and I'm not diabetic.

It became pretty clear pretty quickly that I'd had what's commonly known as a TIA (I have no idea either).
In short, it's a mini stroke, a shot across the bow.
I'm physically fit, I eat well and I try and take care of myself.  I'm also used to dealing with intense stress given my background and previous jobs.
But something snapped and I've effectively reset myself.
As you can imagine, it's a fair bit to take in.
There's a whole blog post here but I won't bore you with it, basically it covers the indignity of what's happened, the surprising support I've received from the people I'm lucky enough to call family (Car and Otherwise) and the stark realisation of the panic I've caused people because I operate at 100mph all the time.
So I'm currently resting.  I'm working an hour or two a day, I've got back on a bike after 25 years as I can't drive for another couple of weeks and I've got a 7 day encardiogram (?) to look forward to.
Still, I'm still alive.  I still have a disgusting sense of humour and I have awesome support network.
Coudl be worse eh?

Well that was lucky escape I would say. Hate to think what would of happened if you had been alone when it happened.

Good that you have support and hope you get yourself right soon.

Been there done that at the ripe age of 41, it wasn't a TIA and I have had those since, but I had a hemmoragic stroke in the LH Pons area, I couldn't talk or walk for a few weeks, and well after 4 months of therapy I went back to work.

Laymans terms I blew a head gasket.

Jesus, see I read stuff like this and I realise just how lucky I've been.
Able to drive again as of Friday which is awesome but I'm staying away from Yoda until the new year as it's a bit harder to drive.
Last week was hard, I'm not going to lie.
I'm a fairly resilient chap, due to my previous life I've seen and done things that have turned me into a bit of a robot but I'm dealing with the fact that my career in my chosen industry is effectively over, I need to take care of myself a bit more and my marriage looks like it's coming to an amicable end.
This has led to a weekend without proper sleep and me blurting out about mental health on social media, something I'd never normally do.
And the results?
Surprising.
The post itself wasn't a cry for help or any of that sheet, it was more just a rant about why people don't feel they can talk about the things that keep us up at night.  It's all well and good to stick a meaningless meme up or like it with a "call me anytime babes" but it's another thing when your world is falling apart at 4am on a Tuesday.
And it got people talking, which was kinda the point.
Anyway, first proper (ish) day back to work today (I work from home so it's pretty laid back).  Only doing a few hours and sorting bits but it's a start.
Have an ace week everyone.
Tune for today: whatever the hel you want.
