But as soon as I heard the news I couldn't help thinking of the song "A Road to Hell"!

Crikey dude, hope it wasn't too serious

Apologies for the ramble, it's been an odd week

So Christmas is over.  The decorations are all away, the tree looks as bad as we feel and the harsh reality of a full week of work makes you wonder whether it's all worth it.
Screw all this, we could sell up and travel like we spoke about when we were drunk at 3pm in a weekday on a day we can't remember in between Christmas and new year.
Statistically you're more likely to jump jobs in January and February than any other time of the year.  I know all this because I'm normally the guy at the end of the phone trying to get your work life back in order.
Only this year it's slightly different as I'm the one jumping. 
Long story short - been headhunted, amazing job, happily handed in notice and caused an absolute cack storm.  Expected garden leave and fake smiles as I skipped out the door.
Only I live in a cartoon.
Owner gets involved along with hr, takes everything I've said on board and offers me my own startup department.  Completely independent, reporting directly to him and focusing on my area of expertise and making sure the rest of the business is compliant.
Suddenly the lines are blurred and the decision is a lot harder.
Moral of the story? Careful what you wish for, you may just get it

Firstly- no it wasn’t to bad until they removed the offending fragment of metal then proceeded to remove the rust stain from my eye with a tiny grinder ! I kid you not ! Went in with a bit of metal came out with a bleeding hole in my eyeball all be it a small one about 2mm but it’s an EYE !!! Sorry but it hurt like a swine after about an hour but it’s much better now
So dude !! Job envy !! Totally jealous of the run with it / steer your own ship sort of offer you have on the table, not of having to decide which way to jump! Sounds like a tuff decision, I’d like to be able to impart some wisdom about now to make your choice easier and also sound cool alas that is not the case but I’m sure if you do the sums, follow your gut and then flip a coin everything is bound to be fine.
All power to ya man, I’m sure you’ll make the right choice
