Yes my friend and you know what!

I sat down last night and worked this out.
I took the years and months I've owned the car, then subtracted the 6 months per year its in storage.
Then divided that number with the 5 times some idiot has smacked into it.

I came up with once every 3 months or once every 12 weeks depending on how you want to look at it!  O_o
Just to much.  :'(

Thinking of contacting the Guinness of Records.
Must stand a chance I'd of thought.

Roughly works out at every 1800 Miles!

The first one I'd only driven it home 180 Miles and in less than 24 Hours some Trucking Tanker reversed into it!

Oh jees Mike, I'm so sorry/gutted for you!!!

I thought you were joking at first when read what happened. I can't believe how much bad luck you've had with this. Your surname wasn't Hitler in a former life was it? :-/

Really hope that you have it back, sorted again soon. Maybe you need to install some extra bright lights around the car so people can't miss you coming.

Really, I'm properly gutted for you Mike  :ocf_emoticons__alright:  :ocf_emoticons__alright:

Thanks Andy!

Just not sure I'm going to feel the same again about the car.
Seems like I've lost the love for good this time.

It's great car and is admired by so many.
I mean I like a challenge but there has to be a limit.
Feels like I've hit mine.  :(

I've seriously enjoyed owning him with so many great memories but the over powering feeling is all the downs and there has been so many, none of them the cars fault.
This one has been faultless mechanicaly apart from a snapped clutch cable.

VW Dealers here don't know Mk1 from a whole in the ground but claim they do.
The same two Dealers who's paintwork looks like it has been done by an Orangutan in his old age and he forgot his glasses.

Then there's the paint shop I'm using now.
Supposed to be the best in Austria.

Good paint work but not outstanding but they let themselves down badly.
If I could show you the paint smears (finger prints, smudges) inside and then there's the paint dust all over the interior.
Don't even start me on the mohair roof.

If I was back home I'm certain I wouldn't have the same experiences but I'm not!

My Wife wants me to write a book about all that has happened to the car in the 3 years and 2 months I've owned it just the other day but I refused for several reasons.

First is I can't write for toffee.
Secondly is who the hell would ever buy it let alone read it.
The third reason is no Publisher's would ever believe the story and would insist on labeling the book as 'Fiction'!

Sent from my mobile phone while mentally knackered!

Ah chin-up Mike ;)

I'm sure you'll get to a point where it wont seem quite so bad.

I use a very good paint shop, but the 'bodyshop dust' does still get everywhere. Always a pain to clean afterwards

Well I picked 'Schrat' up from the paint shop on Wednesday afternoon after paint job No. 5

Remember the lastest.

Now the paint is looking fresh again, for now!

I've said it before but this paint shop does do a sh_t hot job, I'm not easy to please when it comes to this sort of work.
However I do find it hard to criticize the skill of their painter, first class I'd say!

Oh well, until the next installment!  O_o

Did you get a Police escort back from the garage this time?  Let's all keep our fingers crossed it was its last visit to the bodyshop.

You need a few of these placed strategically around the car

Like your thinking Richard!
In fact in would save the Police time if they did that, faster response times etc…

Wouldn't have to put down their coffee and doughnuts so often, nothing worse than cold coffee and rock hard doughnuts!

I just thinking about which panel or panels I want painted next.
Then writing in red 'Hit me here' with an arrow pointing to the point of impact.
Then asking them to kindly leave there insurance details!

Important!
Well this post is as good as any to say that I'm going on holiday for about two weeks.

So starting tomorrow I will be spending two summer weeks in Hospital (all expenses paid).  O_o

All joking aside, I'm going in for one or more operations on a restricted Artery in the left leg.
Tests and scans in the first week and then the Op the following or at least that's the plan at the moment.

Good job I hadn't laid out a bucket load of cash to be at the AGM as I would have been seriously out of pocket.

As for leaving mine parked on a public Street for the next two weeks, God only knows what or how much will be left, if any when I come home.  O_o

As if I didn't have enough to worry about but hey ho!  :o

Glad to see the car looking good as new …..again. Good luck with the op, hope all goes well.
Just remember this time to turn the invisibility cloak off on your car. There's a small button under the dash…..you obviously have never found it. Should solve all your problems.
