MFA oil temperature

Post

can anyone help?

I noticed the oil temp sensor on top of the cooler/filter had no wire attached which is probably the reason for the MFA not showing the temp!

i can't see any wires in the engine bay so will need to run one, what i am looking for is info on what wire on the clocks needs to connect to the newly run wire?

Thanks in advance

it depends on the age of the car, as it will either run thru the fusebox or on a fly lead haning off the dash loom. look closely at your wiring loom for a green/black wire, if it was a factory GTI this should be in there it may just have snapped off somewhere?

if not look at the wiring behind the fusebox for a yellow or green/black fly lead from the dash loom to the engine loom, it should be a male spade on the dash loom to a female spade on the engine loom. if its yellow then this is for the oil pressure switch, and the oil temp is going thru the fusebox. if green/black this is the oil temp wire :)
