Massive thank you thread...

Too all who helped!

I would like to make this thread to let everyone know how much help and advice I received recently in my hunt for A Golf Mk1.

This Forum and its key members deserve a huge pat on the back. It has reminded me that we do still live in a world where there are still genuinely nice people still around who are happy to help, stranger or friend.
I don't think everyone realises that a lot of hard work and peoples spare time goes into this website and also goes into helping its members make sure they have all their questions answered and advice and help is offered freely!

I recently purchased a MK1 Sportline and wouldn't have found the right one if it wasn't for a few of the members on here…like Shughy, Richyhill, GolfCabrio, Hairyarse and most importantly Chortle to name a few. I had lots more help from other members but was overwhelmed by how friendly everyone has been.

So I would like to dedicate this thread to all the people who helped me in my hunt and can only hope to see you all at a show this year!!

Thank you MK1 Golf Owners Club and its members :wub::wub:Maria.

I've 'Pinned' your post for the next seven days, simple because of the following.

I live in Austria and have owned a Mk1 since 2012.

Trust me when I say this, it would be impossible for me to own one and take care of it without the MK1OC,  pure and simple.

You mentioned a few but the advice I've seen given is from 1,000's of members has been priceless!

I said this a very long time ago but this great Club and has far more knowledge and experience then Volkswagen when it comes the the Mk1.

For young and old (like me) we have a one stop shop for these cars and may it remain so long after I'm gone!

Just look at all our preferred sellers to start with and the list is growing all the time.  :o

As I said in your other post,  "The Best Shows!"  :ocf_emoticons__eusa_clap:

Oh Maria, I  your Sportline!

You are spot on with what you have said Mike.

The knowledge and expertise from all the people who are part of this site is priceless. Better than what VW dealer could offer on these classic cars.
It just amazes me that everyone seems so happy to help and give up there free time to help fellow owners out!!

everyone please keep up the good work!!

Maria

I am so glad you have found your car, and its so nice to see this thread.

I could not have found and maintained my first clipper I got in 2009 without this club.

Just the buying guide was invaluable , and everyone's advise meant I knew more about Mk1's then I ever could have before I started looking at cars.

Look forward to seeing you at a show before, if not the AGM, where you can see what a bunch we really are lol

Love for the Mk1 family and all that give up there spare time

Hi Maria & Mike

Some very nice words. I guess we are all part of a mk1 golf family and community so we share the bit of knowledge we have acquired having worked on and love we share on these cars.

I'm was only too happy to help - just sorry I didn't convince you to buy mine. But I think mines a keeper for the moment.

Keep us informed of your progress and as always only an email away. Happy 'Sportline' motoring!

Cheers Hugh.
