p.s. who's the member selling the Sportline £8k or offers? wasn't this up for sale around New Year for about £6k?

I guess it's that old adage of 'try find another one!'

If it is properly mint and genuine mileage, I wouldn't have thought it's too far off the mark.

However, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Looks nice though

Didn't think this one was too badly priced if it's what you are really after, however my eyes nearly popped out looking at the price of some of the other stuff on their website - £17k for a Metro

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if that sells even at that price! O_o

I can see some wealthy husband buying that as a little present for his wife or for his daughter as an 18th birthday present.

That's what used to happen back when this car was new.
The husband would come in to buy an Audi Quattro Turbo for himself and buy his wife one of these to keep her quite!

Is it worth it?
Well that's another matter.  ;)

Hey Dean good to hear from you!  :)

Well the weather has been up and down the last few days but I am up at about 1,000m so we had heavy rain yesterday and then this morning but now the sun is out and it's about 21/22.
Tomorrow we are looking 28+.  ;)

The problem with this type of car is that we naturally look at it with different eyes than a normal buyer.
Not that we'll ever find out but I could see someone falling in love   with it and paying 10k.

I'd be surprised if the dealer paid more than 6k cash in hand.
He's stuck a price on it and gone fishing and you'll be surprised how often you can get a bite with a car like this.
Then it's down to your selling skills to reel them in!

I did it plenty of times back then. ;)

I know that car from the local shows in the late 90s. It was mint then with the mirrors underneath etc - thought it was amazing when I was 18! The dealer sticker and number plate gave it away! It's no coincidence these high price golf threads are increasing- I bet the same thing is happening on some of the classic ford forums! The Sportline is the same price as before pretty much but at a better time to sell. Not sure about the non leather steering wheel and Sportline decal wrong way around though. The 12k one mentioned on that ad didn't actually sell as its been back on again since. Think the 6k and equally as good one sold few months back in Westonsupermare. Not selling mine though unless for stupid 911 money and it isn't worth that!

In the present market the Sportline in that order is pretty much there in price I'd say. He's had a lot of interest according to the ad and really doesn't need much (they're never finished lol!). Mine is nearly there but only had it since sept and didn't pay nearly as much albeit with 160k. Loads of Rivages popping up lately though around 5-6k mark but less Sportlines it seems. Not sure why as I thought the numbers were similar. All white is still in awesome condition and someone will pay it I'm sure.
