GTI Engineering ( Helios Blue)

 Can anyone help me please or if you have any information, As I brought a MK1 Golf GTI  Helios Blue a few weeks back and in the engine bay it has got a plaque GTI Engineering number
316, But I have no paper work in the history, but it was done on the 15/11/1985, But in the service book it has GTI Engineering stamps from 1985 - 1990.. I have tried ringing the number 01926 451545, But this number doesn't exsist. Does anyone know how I can find out about the car?

They did a variety of conversions back in the 80's from stock 1.6 & 1.8's with modified Cams, exhaust and filters to bored out 2.0 conversions with 152 bhp. What's the registration and do you have any pics as might be a car in some of the old magazines and Club GTi mags we have?

Hi the reg is A333 XGK will try to get pics on but not really that good with computers it is a 1800

Is yours fitted with a Zender body kit and alloys?

No there is  no zender kit, Alloys are bbs, Which ones I don't know, I will try and get some pics up, I would just like to find out about who owned it and gti engineering side of it. It is a good solid car with only 5 owners.

Have you a picture of the plaque? That should have the type of engine you have. I have GTI Enginnering brouchers from that period so could give more info.

No but will try to get one up, I can tell that it is a gti 1800+pac

That signifies that the head has been upgraded but the bottom end wasn't touched. Good for 135 bhp in GTIE adverts.  

Here's a scan of the 1800+ customer info. sheet dated a few months before your engine conversion so probably a good indication of the work done…
