German signature under carpet on 1992 Clipper?

Hi All

while removing my carpets for cleaning repairs during light restoration of my 1992 clipper i found what appears to be this german signature? on the tunnel by the handbrake!

Never seen this before on any other MK1 or vw i've owned ..is it the signature of the builder on the line?..on is it something else??..looks to be original!

Has anyone else got this on their car?

any info greatly appreciated !

Looks like it says Alpine white in German.
