Hi guys

Just wondering how the speedo cable is removed from the gearbox, and can it be re-routed to tidy it up?
Has anyone relocated the ign amp from the raintray area, and if so where can i put it?
There is a resistor looking type of thing just below where the ign amp sits..its attached to the raintray and is about 4" long and has two yellow wires running into it at either end..just wondered what it is?
Also wondered if anyone has used clear (see thru) fuel lines or indeed if they are available?
Thanks
Darren

Hi,

The speedo cable is held into the gearbox with 1 bolt through a securing collar if yours is a 1.5-1.8L model, Alternatively its held in by a 22mm nut at the end of the cable if you have a 1.0-1.3 model.  It can be routed in any fashion you like really as long as you dont kink it!

The ignition amp can be relocated to anywhere so long is it has ample cool air near it. The resistor you describe underneath the ign amp is for the headlights, its function is to put the dip beam on very dull when you have only the sidelights on. You can remove this entirely which would leave you with just your 5w sidelight bulbs working when you have your sidelights on. (what you'd expect to happen anyway)
