Chairman Nominations

Below is a brief description of the role, what the job entails and the kind of person we are looking for. 

If you would like to apply for the role yourself, or would like to nominate anyone else then please respond, likewise if you are nominated and dont want to be considered please PT us and we will remove you from the nomination process.. 

Please note only nominations, first, second posts will be accepted, all other posts will be removed

Roles and Responsibilities
Club Chairman 

Role

Overseeing the Committee and the affairs of the Club 
Reporting Lines

Reporting to the Club Committee 

Duties and Responsibilities

Be completely familiar with the constitution, club rules, committee procedures and be responsible for chairing and managing meetings of the Committee.

Oversee and guide all decisions taken by the Committee.

Liaise with the Club Secretary on the Agenda for each meeting and review the draft minutes before they are circulated to all members.

In conjunction with the Club Secretary, prepare and present the annual report for presentation to all members at the AGM 

Liaise with the Treasurer to ensure that funds are spent properly and in the best interests of the club.

If unable to attend any committee meeting, a written report should be sent to the meeting and another committee member briefed on the Agenda.

To sign off all clubs expenses.

To attend and help with the Annual Gathering and NEC (if possible).

Experience/Requirements:

1. Enthusiastic, motivated person with good communication skills 
2. A PAID Member for a minimum of 12 months
3. Experience of management at senior level would be an advantage 

We would like to emphasis that the work is on a voluntary basis, ideally suited to a regular and enthusiastic forum user.
If nominating yourself you will need to be firsted and seconded by another party, if you are nominating someone else and they also get seconded, we will contact them and if they themselves are then happy for the role then we will move to an election process.

Applications/Nominees close in 2 weeks on Friday 20th June 2014 at 6pm when we will move, if necessary, to an election process.


Please remember that you will ONLY have one vote, so please also only nominate 1 person

Nominations will close tomorrow, Friday 20th June 2014 at 6pm. 

If only jellybelly has been nominated and seconded then the role will go to him.

If a late runner comes in then a vote will take place. 

Well I left it for a little longer than 6pm juuuussstt incase someone else put their hand up.

But, without anyone standing against jellybelly it falls to me to congratulate him as the Chairman in waiting! 

Well done my friend. Hope you enjoy the role as much as I have and have lots of new ideas for us to enjoy!

Well I for one am delighted and sad at the same time Dan.

But one thing is for sure, you are handing over such a great Club into a very safe pair of hands and I certain that Matt will continue what you and others have started.

Congratulations Matt, you are a very worthy Chairman for this Club!
