Bought another Campaign today

I was always incredibly jealous of the owners of some of those cars, and always wanted to have the money to make my GTi as nice as some of those. 20 years on and nothing has changed
Although I still have the car!

The pics of A 377UOE at Gaydon were the first Campaign Register Show to be
held, (apart from the original line up at Swindon).
The other car A 868HCM is my other Black Gti. This car was fully restored in 1993
by yours truly, & has won many awards over the years. the picture of the engine
is the one from HCM. I'm still very proud to own this car as it is one of the family
now. It was the Black car chosen by the Register on the original line up at Swindon.
A 884 HLF was owned by S Larkin of Porthcawl South Wales (also on the original
line up at Swindon). This car was restored in 2000, making its Crowthorne debut
the same year. Restored by Volksmart of Swansea.
The two pictures of my cars at Gaydon were just when I was setting up.
I don't travel with the cars with the hub caps fitted either to or form the shows I
enter, keeps the caps safe & in good condition.
Another Mk1 that brings fond memories was Andrew Bourne's Mars Red RPA880X.
This car had only 22k recorded miles the last time I clapped eyes on it at Crowthorne,
it put HCM in to 2nd place in the concours event, a very nice car!.
One of my old friends Jeff Skillman also owned a Gti that was to die for YMU 578Y
this car was used in some of the HCI Insurance ads during the late 90s/early 2000s.
It came second to UOE at Swindon with HCM in third place in the concours.
Well that's enough again of my ramblings I could go on all night.
Kind regards & Best Wishes to all.
kaykay3 Keith.
Maybe just maybe some of us old Campaigners could get together again? At the AGM?

I remember UOE Keith! Someone on Facebook was asking earlier today if a black Campaign should have a silver side stripe - I was just looking at the photo of yours from our 2004 meet at Gaydon to verify!
There was a nice one parked next to you too;
Fantastic engine bay!
Best wishes
Andy
Yes silver stripe down the side of the black one as well as the Helios Blue cars. Also no black surround on the hatch of these two coloured cars either.
