Beautiful motor, and good that it is going to an enthusiast.

I think they were Reiger kits on them. There use to be loads come over from the continent especially Holland and Germany. Did anyone on here go to the GTi meet in Baarlo, Holland. I went in 94 with the lads from Oxford with their 'Oxford Edition' cars lol!! That was a great meet.

Very Clean, does the history say who restored it?
Dug my mates Silver Campagin out of storage yesterday. after 5 years it started on the 3rd attempt. and that was only because we had removed the cap and leads and took 3 attempts to put them on with number one in the correct place. :)

I've found loads of pictures from 90/91/92/93. When I get five mins I'll scan them and get them on here. Who was the guy that had the tornado red F reg 16v mk2 that was always mint?

That was, or should I say is Ray Partner. He still has it and was at Stanford Hall last year.  He was one of the first people in UK to put 17inch wheels on a Golf, when we first saw it, it looked crazy - amazing how times have changed.  It's returned to completely standard now and has I think about 150k on clock.

Great pics, thanks Jerry ;)

Great to see the styling again from back then, you forget what is was like sometimes. The body kits on the Roccos!!

No worries Andy.I got so many in albums and loose when you're down in the area let me know.
Anyway, heres another little selection…These include when I went to Baarlo in Holland in !993.First foreign show for me and blew me away. Went to so many afterwards I lost count but lucky I got pictures to look back on and met so many people that even to this day are good friends. :)

Now this is a selection from Baarlo,Holland

Now who has these in their collection?

Sorry for the last 2 rotated..
Thats enough for now..I'd have to get a scanner for the rest plus to get them in better quality.

I do remember this, but as above its probably mixed up..

Ok,heres amother little selection and I must apologise for the quality of the pics but they were taken with my iPhone.

Nigel Ketchingtons immaculate Cabby that won Inters of a couple years. Wonder if it's still around?

A few black ones that I know one or two of them were advertised for quite a bit due to their low mileage

Something different

Jerry, is this yours ?

Some red ones which I know are still around

Now something that was very special and a one off that and that came up for sale on eBay over a year ago…With me at the wheel also…GTI Engineering conversion to automatic, full Zender kit, white leather electric Recaros and interior that was converted for an Arab princess

Had to get mine in the pic next to it.

The last ones were the first year at the TRRL as my car (A758ERY) I remember being parked up there, plus the black one PPC275W was a really low mileage one.  That was the year that my car was used on the Saturday to set up the slalom, had to get a new set of tyres a few weeks later!

Richard that was 1989…What a good vintage that was….Hopefully you were reimbursed for the tyres?

Love these old pics!
We need to find the survivors either on the register or more likely on the DVLA vehicle search website.

The photos from the early days at Crowthorne have rekindled happy times for me
Always enjoyed the weekend & will for me it was the best venue.
TKY 435Y was owned by John McGrath for many years. It was a totally original car
in superb condition, with only (12k) recorded miles, it won many awards whilst in
the hands of John.
The last time I saw the car was at Stanford Hall four years ago, John had sold it &
the new owner had neglected the car, a great shame.
SPD 229X was owned by Austin Thorne, another low mileage car (22k), it was at
Swindon in the same line up as my own cars, shortly after it was also sold in August
2001 with (23k) on the clock.
I had the privilege of judging Mr Halls Gti at this years AGM. it was out of circulaton
for some time, good to see it back once again.
Finally A377 UOE, a car belonging to yours truly. Owned the car for the past ten years
or so. Purchased from A Mr Don Percival. A totally original Gti with (35k) recorded miles.
I had the honour to be asked by our club to display A377 UOE in 2010 at the Nec where
it created a lot of interest.
I could ramble on &  on but must go!!!!!
Kind regards to all, & Best Wishes.

Thanks very much for the update Keith.

Can't believe that 'TKY' was neglected as remember it being absolute mint.Dread to see what it must look like now.
Would be nice to see 'SPD' from all those years ago,no doubt at a show this year.
Great to hear that you own 'UOE' and guess its in a great a condition as it was back then.
Please do ramble on if you have more information as I just have the pictures.

I remember UOE Keith! Someone on Facebook was asking earlier today if a black Campaign should have a silver side stripe - I was just looking at the photo of yours from our 2004 meet at Gaydon to verify!

There was a nice one parked next to you too;

Fantastic engine bay!

Best wishes
Andy
