Best way to cover my gti

Post

Hello, peoples I need some help and I know this ain't the best way to keep my gti but it's the only option open to keep a eye on it and work on it and that is to keep it on my drive, I have invested in a cover but it's more like large rubble stack plastic that easily tears,( eBay cheap stuff) so I need something that will keep the gti good and dry through the rain and snow and horriable weather, is there any recommendations that anyone one has I rather have quality than quantity so all help appriciated

Baz, SpecialisedCovers do a members discount and if you check out their thread you'll see that their covers are very well tailored and close fitting ;)

I bought one of these and when I can find the darn post with the company name I'll send you a linky!
They cost about 150 GBP roughly and is 5 ply, 100% waterproof and breathable.

Fairly heavy, and has belts to clip it together (not used in this pic) so it is just hanging loose before I pulled in it correctly.
The inner lining feels like cotton wool, used it for the last two winters and the car looks as good as the day I covered it (absolutely no marks or scratches).
Oh and my car is covered for at least five months a year, I live in Austria!

I bought it in the UK.
Don't buy cheap is my best advice!

If its kept outside, id certainly look at a tighter fitting one. Mine is talored to a mk1 but still a little baggy and the damn thing keeps blowing off the car even though ive got lastic straps around it around the bumpers.

I found a scruffy picture of the one I've got and it's from a company called 'Moltex'!

It has elastic corners and proper thick adjustable belts to pull it down.
Not saying it's the best ever but I'm more than happy with the job that it does!  :)

I would go for a fitted cover rather than a one size fits all. There are plenty of companies who do them. As has been said cheap isn't the way to go.

Have a quick look on the Dancover website… they sell portable garages/storage tents etc… that are pretty good, with quite a few different sizes available.

You know, I have not taken it out of the bag yet.

It is down the Mancave, I will have a look for you at the weekend if not before. I live a few miles away.

I do believe that is it layered though.
