Still looking for a nice example of a Sportline or a Rivage

wow look at this, i know someone who has the cloth for these seats, and if this actually sold for that money it was a bargain, bit of TLC and could have been nice!

If you look at my sportline link below, then the link in that for my trip to Ireland i also looked at the car below, it was nice on the body work etc, but from memory it just felt a bit sloppy on the drive so maybe just needed some mechanics sorting on it he wanted somewhere between £2800-£3000 for it not the £3995 it says in ad

seen the one in Oxford, its nice but the lack of leather is putting me off. But the chap Steve is a nice guy and the car needs a bit of a detail to remove orange peel effect and some paint on bonnet and boot lid.

The ones on Gumtree I must admit I have not seen.

Found a couple of pictures of my old Mk1's and my brothers golf clipper from 1993 we used to love these cars back in the day, i still love the tin tops!!!




The white one had a 16v conversion ( it was not very good ) but it was a campaign model well thats what the guy told me anyway. Sold that then purchased the green one ( horrible front bumper was going to replace it but sold it )

I know I'm sure it was 1990 thinking about it. The XR2i was a car my dad had just purchased from BCA auctions he was a motor trader so used to store them at home if unit was full. Had some great memories of those days. I'd love to know where they both are, but I think the guy who purchased the white one went into the back of a Trent bus a few days after buying it. Maybe some one has the green one on here that would make me laugh!!!

The leather isn't a problem really to sort out.
What is a problem is worn material that isn't available anymore or when it is it's through the roof money wise.
See what sportline interiors are fetching on E bay.
£5-600.00 notes.

If the cloth on the Rivage goes it's the same issue.
Leather lasts and you can restore.

Shouldn't be a problem if the seats are okay in the first place, you can swap the seat base foams around from the passenger to drivers seat so the outer drivers bolster that takes the hammer and rubs through the foam and the fabric eventually, becomes the inside of the passenger so doesn't get bashed getting in. It's the reverse for the passenger seat foam.
This evens the wear out. So if you can get a passenger seat in good condition you could swap the foam and top cloth over..

Plus the Rivage has heated seats, nice when the weather really cools down. On a cool autumn day when it's dry but sunny, heated seats on windblokker in place, heater on equals roof down….  Hmmm… Decisions

The Sportline looks more 'sporty'

I am similar to what Chris has said above - undecided really what to do - sell and go for another mk1 project. I have my eye on something which will come up in the coming months or stick with what I've got. Dilema really  :dontknow:

I have put a lot of time, effort and money into my car, it would be a shame to sell…

I have had a number of emails (thru the website) and pm's from lads and lassies looking for mk1 sportlines in the last couple of months - seems they are all going into hibernation for the winter?

A few more will come up for sale before the winter months kick in…

well sorry i didnt get to meet you mass im glad you still had a good look around the car my dad said you were a big MK1 fan  ! i decided to keep it now  if i cant get want im after for it then its worth keeping and spending a bit more money on to get it looking really nice ! so might see you at a meet one day
