Description
This car is one of the best examples of VW Sportlines left on the road…The car is in very good condition, and looks immaculate. Car has done 128k miles which isnt too bad considering its 20+ years old. I have spent a lot of money on the car overt the past 2 1/2 years as i had every intention of keeping it. There is now less than 80 Sportlines left on the road..so it really is a very rare golf. The car drives very well, and starts first time every time. Leather seating throughout, back seats are immaculate, front driver seat is showing some signs of ageing but in my opinion it adds to the character of the car. Roof is electric and opens at a push of a button (at the moment, i have run out of hydraulic fluid, so hoping to get more before i sell, if not, it is easy to pick up and just needs to be topped up so the roof can work) There car is rust free, and the roof does not leak as it is brand new, car is also fitted with an immobiliser. Some of the things that i have added to the car / bought new:
- Radiator
- Fuel Neck & Fuel Tank
- Steering Rack
- New timing belt April 2013
- ball joints and bushes, & suspension arm
- break drums & cylinders & weel bearing kits
- Fuel pump
- Battery
- Brand new Mohair roof
- Brand new BBS Style Alloys
- Full body re spray (car got slightly faded, due to age)
The down sides:
I bought the wrong handle for the drivers door and it can be temperamental, sometimes it will lock and open with the key, other times it will lock, then it wont open. This is simply a case of buying the correct door handle for the car (i bought a tin top door handle not a clipper, so the lock on the door doesnt quite match up with the door frame) The door is lockable, but sometimes i have to open passenger door then reach over and flick the lock inside the car up and it opens. this only happens occasionally, have been meaning for ages to get a new door handle but i huyss its just one of those things that you never get around to doing!
Inside of the driver side door has a small hole in the lining and the wind up window is missing a small attachment
At the moment i am opening the roof manually as i have run out of hydraulic fluid….it is electric but needs topping up with hydraulic fluid.
As can be expected from a car that is 21 years old there is the odd few nicks and knacks, but all are cosmetic and can be corrected without much time or effort at all.
The car has full service history and all docs and receipts since new…It has only had 3 owners from new plus myself, it was owned by a lady up until a few year ago then owned by a complete VW enthusiast and had been very well looked after inside and out. The car is such a beauty to drive, it gets serious attention wherever i go…i am very reluctant to sell but am moving to Bristol shortly so need money to fund my move!
This car really needs to be seen to be appreciated..
