Windscreen - tinted sun strip or not?

Greetings, My 83 GTi needs a new windscreen. I'd like to keep the car as original as possible, so I'm guessing the new windscreen shouldn't have a tinted strip across the top?  Any ideas?

personally i wouldnt bother wi a tinted screen if your wanting to keep the car looking original as possible, just personal preference
