Door hinge alignment

the washer goes between the door hinge and the bracket welded onto the car, you have to remove the bolt and slip it behind then refit the bolt again, this is why its a bit fiddly! Thickness of the washer depends on how much door needs to move its trial and error really. hinge bolts are M8 :)

The tool above looks handy, but I would only use it if required once the hinges are checked for play and replaced if necessary, otherwise you may be bending perfectly well aligned doors to make up for slop in the hinges. I had to bend my mk2 back straight after bodging em with the 'close a wheel bolt in the hinge' trick once I put new hinges on it :lol:

As always mate, your a true legend! Thank you. Will sort the washers one weekend coming and go from there. I have a willing volunteer to assist, just need a change in weather!! Plus tomorrow I've already allocated some time for my new speakers and wiring to the rear  :offtopic:
