Oversized pistons for 1.6 Gti EG - Where can I find some?!

Higher c.r's are indeed more efficient, but higher c.r's without the appropriate squish can result in melted pistons. From memory the woosners @ 11.6 have a similar compression height to the o.e EG pistons but with a shallow bowl to increase the c.r.

If being used in a std road engine I'd open the bowls to bring the c.r back down to std or at most 0.5 of a ratio over std.

The ignition timing can be reduced a little to help take the edge off with a higher c.r (unless the squish band is snug), but the need for too much reduction in ignition offsets the improvements in extra c.r.

A std cooling system in good condition will cope ok with the extra heat…it's not that much different.

Ive got a brand new set of pistons for an eg .5mm oversize . Bought for my project but decided to reline and use the pistons already fitted to my engine.
Looking to get back what I paid……£350
