Seperating Clutch Bell Housing from Transaxle!

I'm replacing the the clutch on my 83' Rabbit GTI, Managed to seperate the transaxle from the engine block but want to seperate the clutch bell housing aswell. We have undone all the nuts and bolts we can find and still no luck prying it apart either.

any help would be much appreciated and as quick as possible aswell as my weekend project is turning into an epidemic!

cheers peeps :D

did you miss the one round the back, under the driveshaft flange? the bolt goes in on the engine side threaded into the gearbox, so I guess that would be passenger side of car from your use of the words 'rabbit' and 'transaxle' :D

oh we've separated it from the engine block but there's 3 sections to the transaxle, were trying to separate the middle section to replace the seals and clean up the inside as its been leaking oil :)

and I'm originally from south coast near brighton hence buying a vw here, if i was a yank i would have fallen into the trap of muscle cars or jap c**p haha!

yeh split the casing, figured out you had to literally take apart the WHOLE transaxle to get to the seals and gaskets. was originally changing the clutch but then thought id clean everything up inside like gears etc and didn't realize it was a painstakingly long process haha! thank you for the responses tho, I've nearly got it rebuilt again lol! :)
