Yet another rough runner

Yup…….another thread about a rough running car.




It's a mk1 golf Cabby 1.8 8v with a weber carb.




It has always had a problem that when I didn't warm it up enough it would run very rough and try to cut out under load, now it happens all the time but for some reason off choke my revs are incredibly low (probably about 200-300) and it runs very very rough, I have found that if I pull choke out a tiny bit it runs fine (idle at 1000rpm) but seems down on power till second port on carb opens (full throttle, power fine after 4.5k rpm)




I am wondering if timing has buggered up or a vac pipe is blocked somewhere.




Oh yeah it's running really rich, pops in almost every gear when I back off on the throttle,
