Power Dropping on hills

Post

Hi guys my 1st post wondering if I could ask your advice? Total novice so please be kind :)

Got a 83 gx auto 1.5 been running fine since iv had it, it's got a little oil leak on engine (asked my mechanic mate about it and said it's common) and a small fuel leak. The other day whilst on a motorway going up hill got to 70 and the power would drop out intermittently. I'd take my foot off the gas and then it would seem to be ok then at the next incline do the same. It seems to only do it on hills, but I'm also noticing that when on flat or down hill Seems to be less power.

My left front indicator has also just gone and when I replace the bulb it still wouldn't work not sure if it's related?

Any help appreciated thanks!

maybe try better fuel, going up hill in a high gear is a way to test if your engien pinks so it may be doing so. fix the fuel leak asap as that wont be helping for sure.

check the wiring from the indicator, it runs to a 2 pin plug make sure the terminals are all clean. i assume the rear one works ok on that side?
