Hello all,
Looking for a cam upgrade for a 1.6 mk1 caddy. Do mk1 gti and mk2 gti (8v) cams fit? Found a mk3 gti engine too, would the cam from that fit??
Any help appreciated!

Does your car have hydraulic tappets or shims?
You need to match the cam shaft to which type of head you have fitted.

Had GTi cams fitted to my 1.8 cabby yesterday - nice upgrade! Seems to run a lot smoother and acceleration is slightly faster - not a night and day difference but it's subtly improved.
According to Crazy Quiff's, if you have a plastic splash shield visible when you remove the oil filler cap (and it's original!) then you definitely have hydro lifters.
