Does a downdraft Weber need the electronic Idle cut off solenoid?

Post

Ok, Basically i have a 1.8 clipper. I have bolted a downdraft weber on and it idles rough like a sack of spanners.

Ignition is fine, timing is spot on.

There's a bracket for an idle jet cut off solenoid and its missing, could this be the problem?

Thanks
James

What the black wire goes to on the front.

The solenoid isn't needed on the golf but the port is there as it's used on many other applications.

The black wire the yellow crimp is to earth the carb. The other black wire is the carb block heater which needs earthing hence the other wire.

Rebuild on the weber is easy so worth doing,
