Vw press image - improooooooved - Annual gathering style

As some of you know I managed to persuade VW to loan us the mk6 GTD and GTI for showing at the gathering

They also sent us the image for their press release



which tian very kindly printed off and we used as a banner for the show

Howver whilstat the show, we thought it would be great to not only replicate the image, but improove it

to do that we had to find a cracking  MK1 GTi - to which there isnt many, - Chudd to the rescue..

Then I spoke with Drive by shootersand got them to line up the cars and take the shot

I'm sure you'll agree that this is a much better image


I've now also forwarded it onto VW with my thanks for use of the vehicles

Drive by shooters are sending me a disc of all images taken from the show, once received i'll post them up in low res and explain how you can order your image(s)

i'd defo like to see that on a canvas hanging on my wall !!

The shot did take a fair amount of setting up (which you might think was easy…but wasnt)

Took numerous attempts and angles just to get it perfect.

Then the sun kept disapearing, then the sun was to bright on the white cars, then there was too much shadow on the nearside of the MK1.!!!

Arrrrgh…..now you might realise why it took so long just to photograph 2 cars!

deffo ours is better as the mk1 is the focal and not left behind lol!

to be honest mate, if the rest of the pics arehalf as good as that one, I think everyone will be very very happy indeed

for the techno geeks you'll notice 'bling' on the Mk1's wheels even on shadow side of the car. Achieved with remote flash.

Silly things like that, to us, make an image that much better.

nice bit of fill in. always a good call.

oonly one was height refeering the other was saying how good you guys were

i asked a simple short question and you guys made it happen..

but I'm not implying anything mate - more making a statment!!      

seriously tho mate - i've seen your work before, but nothing impressed me as much as that image, hence why i posted the 2 together..

i can see your attention to detail is amazing cars about same distance apart, wheels poniting right ways even yor engle of the shot - its all there

excellent photo, think volkswagon will be fools not to choose that photo, my 1st impression on seeing it as an advert for vw suggested to me that  volkswagon have gone back to their roots some how with the new car in some way taken insperation from for a proven success of the mk1, says that thier new one is from a succsessfull blood line and carries the DNA of wot and where it really began for them,yesrerdays status in todays car the next best thing to a mk1 golf………

agree with that, you notice the difference if your luckily enough to drive one

it doesnt feel like a typical brand new car, but more like a fire breathing, but very refined monster…

I had the keys for the GTi during the AGM, I was holding them up to show Steve to try and put him off.. anddd I didn't even drive it, aren't I a responsible adult?!
