DBW throttle pedal differences

 I have done a conversion before, owned several 1.8ts in mk1 & mk2, and always had the plug in dbw pedal as per photo 1 (AUM 180). However my current donor car (225 APX) has the dbw pedal as per photo 2 which I never knew existed (definitely dbw as no cable).
Is this type of pedal usable? Are the pedals interchangeable?
