Help!!! Hand brake cables

So rear beam dropped, cables disconnected from the Handbrake inside
Outer sleeve loose from the feed through tube underneath.

But it won’t pull through.

Is there something else I need to undo to get them to pull through from underneath?

Correct me if I'm wrong as it's over 10 years since I last touched a Mk1 but If I recall correctly the outer sleeve of the handbrake cable has a bush where it meets the tube to go up through the floor. The bush can be quite tight in the tube so a bit of twisting whilst pulling should release it from the tube.

Help!!! Hand brake cables

Thanks all. Managed to get them out. Very simple in the end.

I left the handbrake in the down position and the ends were fouling. After a nights sleep and going back to it I simply lifted the hand brake and they came straight out.

Sometimes I just need to step away.
