Settling In
I had popped a couple of fuses which when replaced I have hazards working but the indicators popped again. Green light stays on the dash when indicating and hazards still work.
Could thus be the switch on the column I have somehow knackered or the relay?

That blows f14 or 19 every time.
You need to insulate the bare wires.

maybe I fried the switch by accident as all the wire are OK.
I'll get a new switch from vwheritage and see what happens

Wipers next as they are unbelievable slow. I have read about the mk2/3 motor swap but I'll test mine first of the car when cleaned.
Cheers for your help.

The fuel gauges, and the water temp gauge both work off the 10V stabilizer, and that both aren't working then you are either missing 12V to pin 14 (black) or ground on pin 2 (brown).
The Black wire on most cabriolet clusters is powered from the ignition switch, so it could be that you toasted yours…
First check all the fuses with a meter.
Then you can try running a jumper from the Battery Positive to the cluster pin 14 usually black and verify that your gauges are now working….

The hazards are like f2 and the turns are like f14 or 19 depending on the year.
Shrink wrap the blue /black striped wire that is the single on other than Brown on your 4-way switch or disconnect the battery as that is usually the reason the fuse goes…..when you remove or replace your switch.
Tisn't much room between the live wire, and the ground on the bulb is there? VW did that so you would have to take the car back to the stealerships as they sold more switches and fuses that way beside the 1hr labor charge to change it
Add an after market radio install plate on the dash and the chances of shorting that to ground increase….
