TD Suzuki Samurai

This is my Suzuki samurai project which me my dad and my brother have built up and modified over the last few years. It started with its standard petrol engine which was ok until the second time we went off-roading and it back fired a lot so turned around and went home.
We decide that the standard engine was useless so we got hold of a Turbo Diesel Isuzu engine and box from a manta I believe not sure though. We got this all fitted up got it into shape for hook g off roading them went out in it got back home drove their and back to find that 3 days later the clutch would go (my brother couldn't really drive that well). It then sat for a couple of months until we fixed it and then painte it in ford diamond white and added a few decals that we had. Went off roading twice more and the inter cooler pipe came off the second time water got in and then that was it. I replaced the engine again with another TD engine. Since then it has say there as we have not had chance to do all the little bits on it that need doing before we take it out again.
All comments welcome
Thanks,
Harry

Will get some tomorrow when I go to work. Although we have put a lot of work into it I would be tempted to put the running gear in a jimny if one came up dead cheap. Simply because there I quite a lot of rust on this.

Sorry for the naff pics all i have is my iPhone and the jeep is in a container so had to use the flas which just makes it worse.

Loads of welding done not all necassery just what we did to either tidy it up or because it was rotten anyway its had quite a lot but as you can see quite a large hole around the gearstick where i will put a agiter around once i find a suitble one. funnily enough it has never let any mud or water through.

A few interior pictures of the dash the bucket seats that we have would get better pictures but the access is limited to get the pictures.

Home made snorkle made up of drain pipe and othe bits that we found.

Front engine mount - Homemade

A picture of the rear and the light bar we made so that water doesnt amage it when we go through puddles.

Front of the jeep now got the grille fitted and you can see how the winch is fitted, possibly better ways but it no longer works something seized not sue though, will find out whenn me dad has a look, probaly going to move it as it is too fsr forward which means that on steep banks it could smash of the ground.

And now finally a load of engine pics surprisinly lots of space considering that it started life as a tiny petrol enine.

Can get mor epics when it is next on the ramp of gearbox and how its fitted underneath if you ike.

After having two weeks off college i should have spent on the golf instead i have been trying to get this running.

Basically it would run but i could only ever get under half revs from it.

I tried an inline pump to get more fuel to the pump, new filter and inline hand pump and new pipes.
But i am having to replace the diesel pump now for the 2nd time. I should probably stop leaving it for months without it running.

however i have been doing some things for the golf which i will show tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,
Harry
