richyhill's NEW DAILY - BMW 520D M Sport

Hi Guys

Well as some of you know my Honda Civic Type S 2.2 CDTI daily was a company car on a four year lease.

I cannot believe how quick 2007-2011 went but it did, and the car had to go back last week.

Unfortunately in my companys wisdom to save money, just as i thought i was gona be able to order new car up they have moved me onto a car allowance

I want to wait to see exactly what money i get after my tax code changes etc and have got a BMW 520D M Sport or Mercedes C220 CDI Sport in mind, or something a little cheaper and more sensible lol

But for the time being my dad was changing his car in March, so i bought this Lexus IS200 SE Auto (with factory fitted Aero kit etc) off him and am going to use it as a stop gap.

Its a gorgeous car with really low mileage but its a 2.0 petrol so not quite economical enough for my job. If someone is after a tidy lexus this might be up for sale in the next four months then let me know.

Here is my old daily

and the new one

2003 lexus IS200 Auto, 50,000 miles, FSH, factory fitted Aero kit and wheels

Before tidy up

After tidy up ! :-) , well chuffed !

Cheers

Rich

Ceri

I need to have a look at what they are going for, but from a quick look and bearing in mind the spec and low mileage, im probably going to be looking for £4250-£4500

Cheers

i did a bit of the prep work then sent the car to a bodyshop i know.

I have to pay for it all now, its changed from me being taxed for having a company car to the company giving me a car allowance but with that i have to fund, insure, tax, service, mot the lot, basically like running your own car but covering it for business use

check out GOLF+ mate, there is a pic of your motor in there from Spting Fest and santa pod :-)

Well little update on this, used the Lexus for 2 months (fuel consumption was killing me) and worked out what i was getting for car allowance, so then went out and bought in July 2011,  a 2008 177 BHP 520D , with 19 inch spiders, piano black interior trim, full tan leather etc, absolutely loved it!

Unfortunately by the time i paid per month my loan for the BM, business class A insurance, put £100 a month away for servicing and maintainance etc it was costing me around £150 a month more than car allowance from company so financially it had to go, i was just so worried about the depreciation, scratching it etc.

My friend and his dad snapped it up as they had an old alfa 156 24v V6 off me before and new i looked after my cars.

More than happy with the 520D i set out looking for another one, but that would be in budget and this is where i am today

I managed to get a 2007, 166 BHP version, with half leather not full, normal aluminium dash trim, 18's instead of 19's but with 20,000 miles LESS on the clock ! and clear £5000 off my loan i have for the original BM! so no brainer as halved my monthly payments owed on car. Bought it off a guy in bridgewater, it had a dent in rear bumper so i sourced a new bumper and had that painted at body shop , whilst that was being painted ive got a small genuine lip spolier painted which is to go on boot, and im looking at buying some 19 inch spiders in the very near future and sell the 18's as i miss the spider wheels and think they really change the look of the car

So here's the cheaper BM, miss my first one, but as this one owes me so much less money i dont worry every time it gets a stone chips etc :-)

I have contemplated chucking another £1000 on the loan and wrapping it white and putting black / grey 19 inch spiders on and getting rear valance and spolier carbon wrapped, but im thinking keep it as a daily for work, and spend cash on the golf instead :-)

ok finally got round to it, been a bit of a wheel   w h o r e over the past month with the bbs on the golf :-), but worked flat out last 12 months and was due some commision so treated myself to some 19 inch 172 wheels better known as spyders for the BM. I always wanted another set after my last 5 series had them as i personally think they look the nuts :-)

so here is the daily BM as it looks now.

Got a genuine painted rear lip spolier for the boot under me bed which i need to get fitted soon

Absolutely beautiful mate.

My 2 x 5 series m sports are prob my fav cars especially the 2nd car with the spiders.

BUT how much nicer would it look with all black badges on the boot, bonnet and wheels ???

Same badges as my BM

Did contemplate it mate

But think they look better against a red ;-) , white , silver car etc.

Think against the carbon black which is more of a dark blue they will get a bit lost.

Also trying to keep it stock for mass appeal come sell / px time.

Glad i got the wheels though, they are reps but unless you were a BM guru or took a wheel off to look for stamps i dont reckon anyone would tell :-)

Your right about the badges, when I think about it, I had a carbon black M3 and the black badges would have clashed !!

The black badges sit best on a white car imo, I had them on a white 1 series m sport coupe and with the matt black grills that I got, it looked great.
