my new toy, classic impreza turbo

bought this as a little 25th birthday present to myself, insurance was £400 cheaper as soon as i turned 25 so i picked it up on my actual birthday!:) managed to get it cheap, it failed mot on a lower arm bush, still had 3 weeks ticket left so got it home and the bolt was loose. tightened it up, replaced a brake light bulb. took it for another mot! and it passsed with no advisories! :P  well chuffed with it so far. not really a fan of jap cars but have always liked these. probably from playing the old playstation games. haha

here it is as i got it with chavy plates and exhaust….

first of many fuel fill ups!!  :?

shit plates gone! and sti/import style pink badge. not 100% on this yet.

notice the silver wing mirrors, got them on ebay for a tenner! mint, complete with glass, brackets and motors!

got the standard back box for a tenner off ebay :) and the decat centre pipe also off ebay from the guy with the mirrors for £40
the new (to me lol) exhaust against the custom powerflow/proflow exhaust. - only good if you're running huge amounts of power and remap.

nice standard twin pipes. a lot quieter and smoother drive now!  8)

thats it for now. loving it apart from the fuel costs! :redfaced: not sure where to go next really, wheels and suspension are hexpensive should really focus my efforts on the golf.

running costs are the only thing that stopped me from buying one a few years ago, awesome car to drive though, bloody quick

they are awsome and so tempting to just keep getting them putting out more and more power :-)

you always know when a scooby is heading up the road :-)

I never liked the lightness of the steering when driving them, not enough feedback for my liking, gripped well though. So you're going for the standard look over chavving it up then? Must say they sound awesome with a big bore on though.

going for a more standard look with a few subtle mods. yeah i've lost the familiar burble but it was just toooo loud with that massive thing. yeah i agree with what youre saying about the steering. awesome cars though for not a lot of money these days.
