My Mk2 Full Build Thread.

Here is my build thread from another fourm i use just thought i would share as i dont have a Mk1 as yet.
Well i finally managed to get myself a mk2 after wanting one for soo long   . I Was looking throught Ebay when i came across this so close too home with a low reserve bonus  :rthumb:. Quick phone call and was out to see it that night quick look over price was come to and cash changed hands     and i drove home in it heres some pics when i got it home  

 





Its a 1.3 with a 5 speed box, 2 owners from new full service history every tax disk and mot from 91    and  currently has…


on the clock  :rock:

Got alot of plans for it needs a good polish but not had the chance with the weather so hoping to get it done this weeked and ill get more pics up, all in all its in great condtion and all the waiting for the right one has paid off

Well guys the Golf got took off the road at the end of November as the tax was up and so i could start some work on it. With the weather being so bad iv not got much done  :bang:  only thing i have managed to get done is front and rear bumpers and grills off  :lmao:  so heres some pics as it stands that i took today











I have started collecting some bits and bobs  











I also have bought a new front bumper with chrome trim just need to collect at some point this week and also have a set of Gti rears in the post. Next up for the Golf is for me to give it a full machine polish when the weather clears up  :bang:  as the car is not taxed i can't take it into my work to do it   . The coilovers will be ordered in January and also on the lookout for a nice cheap set of alloys, somthing along the lines of BBS RAs or likewise to run until summer so give me a shout if you have any lying gathering dust in your shed  k:.


So plans for January are-
Machine polish
Full service
Coilovers
Alloys
Get the new bumpers back on
Tax

And finally back in the Garage wrapped up

Small update now the snow has gone   got the Mims fitted to see how they look and gave it a quick hand polish will get the machine onto it at the weekend depending on weather  











Also started to strip out the interior and only got the back seats out before it got a bit to cold and really pleased nice and solid under the boot carpet and rear seats  





Still not got round to ordering up some coilovers need to get my finger out and get it done  :bang: . Now on the hunt for a new interior considering going for some Rs Turbo Recaros but will see what comes up.

Gave the Golf a service new oil,oil filter,air filter and spark plugs so running sweet as a nut  k: Got new disks and pads waiting to go on will get them done at the weekend   .

Also got the front end put back together with the new crosshairs,smoked indicators,German plates + surrounds and new front bumper

Well thanks too 2 good mates we had a late night in the workshop and got the coilovers fitted on Friday night  

The back needs too come down more a bit of a racked look going on at the moment heres some of my poor pics will get the better ones my mate took and get them posted up

Well after a wee problem with an alaram i never had and fobs for got a few wee bits done to the Golf full back Gti carpet inc rear turrets

Time for an update then……… :lmao:

So after being to a few shows this year was fed up with the Golf and the direction it was going. when i was down at Volksfling and the weeks after just thought the car had went very ott an a bit neddy if you know what i mean  :lmao:  so heres whats been done dont have alot of pics as alot of the work was done this weekend but will get some better ones taken this week  :rthumb:

so heres whats been done-

Changed the door cards to dark gti cards all round to go with the seats
Speakers fitted to the front doors and grills
camber shims added -1.5 deg
arches rolled (cheers Ed for a loan of the roller  :rthumb: )
20mil spacers fitted to the rear
all black bumpers
7 slat Grill
standard rear lights fitted
lie flat rear wiper mod
standard number plates fitted
all stickers removed also
think thats about it heres a couple of bad pics i took will get some over the next couple of day

Well had the car at the last meet @ Braehead on Wednesday night and afterwards went into town for a wee photo shoot with a very good friend who i might add has skills with a camera ill let the pics do the talking

The Golf is now off the road for winter for a few changes for next year but the Audi is getting a bit of work first so will be a wee bit of time before an update on this

That was as far as i took the car had plans of a engine conversion and changing it again but decided to give my mate the chance of it who now has it standard apart from coilovers the backbox so he has big plans for it
