1972, absolute shed atm, lots to do lol. apparently only 1 of 4 built in the factory with this top.


Wanting to get it done so i can get on with the golf cabriolet i have just bought:

Thought that bay looked rare, not sure I've seen one of those tops before - if only 1 of then probably not!

thanks guys, the bay is alot of work, solid underneath though, just alot of bits and pieces.

Im hoping i can get the camper done and catch up on sleep inside it lol. Going to have no free time at all, the missus will love that haha

Are you looking to fit a completely new interior, engine etc etc?? That's going to cost £££

the engine is still in. im prob just going to rebuild it. Il put a new interior in it myself, i can do all the cushion covers and curtains myself. Bay campers seem to fetch crazy money at the minute so its worth doing right

yeah well my actual trade is upholsterer but ive also done a few years on mechanics on air cooled vws. My brother is a paint sprayer and does bodywork, plus im ok with  welder so hopefully it shouldnt cost too much. I cant believe the money that these campers make, its just crazy. I would never spend that sort of money on one personally

Hey Rye, recognised your name off of the late bay.com ive got the same username over there, where abouts are you based? ill keep you in mind if I ever need anything doing, Id love to get into interiors, if youre close enough to me Id love to pick your brains in how to get started in the industry?

Had just about everything aircooled so was time for a change onto water. Only problem is I don't know how to work on them
