Mk2 Golf GTI 16v

Well I picked it up on Saturday after a train ride down to Plymouth, stopped over with my daughter in Exeter then headed up to the MK2 owners club meet yesterday





It drives faultlessly - the engine had a full rebuild not so long ago. Got a stonechip on the perfect windscreen on the way up the M5 yesterday which was a little frustrating! All is good with it though and I forgot how much fun front wheel drive could be!

I've purposely not bought a project car as must get the MK1 finished! It does need a little tinkering but this is one just to drive and enjoy

Yeah it wasn't a bad price. Needs a few bits doing but overall very tidy

Wowzaz, she's a beauty Andy, bargain at 2k    They really are fun to drive

With that lovely new toy sitting there temping you out to play the Mk1 will be on the back burner again!

LOL - not at all! Garage time is still garage time - I will be on the MK1 again later this week  

After having a ride in Yomp's at the AGM and with the 10th Anniversary of the club looming I have had plenty to get me excited about finishing the MK1

Any luck moving yours yet?

None at all mate, still can't get ignition and I've looked everywhere, even gone as far as to ripping the entire alarm system out the car!

Spent a good £100 odd just on getting new 16v badges and paint, if i get £1200 for her i'll be happy , shame as it's only a 3 owner 16v with mostly original paint, no rust and no welding!

That must be annoying  - you know it will be something simple to fix, it's just finding it! I hope you can sort it
