Growing a Dionaea muscipula
Got given it last year and it's just come back to life after being dormant over the winter.
If you've got young children then get one.
They are completely fascinated by them!

Have you put your finger in it yet?
Ha ha! Its not a triffid!
They have hairs on the inside of the jaws which you have to tickle twice within 20 seconds to make the jaws close.
This is stop it triggering without just cause, for example, if a rain drop hit it.
They really are a marvel of evolution!

I bought one for my kid last year, seemed to die very qucikly…or was it just dormant………?Whoops!
You have to keep it watered using rain water and when it weakens off in October put it somewhere cool (8-10 degrees) with with only minor damp soil until about March where it will start to shoot again.
