Electric Guitar
I'v been learnig to pplay the acoustic guitar for a year or so now.. getting there slowly..
I'd thought about getting an electric guitar for a while so i can learn different style but would rather put my money towards my golf
The other day i was doing a job and was moving some gear out of a room and the customer said i could have this guitar if i wanted, i smilled and said i'd knock a little off he said no bother happy days… or so i thought..?? i finished the job and got given this guitar which knew had no string's.. When i got home i realised there was other parts missing :-( Glad i never knocked any off..
Took it to a shop who said it want worth them repairing..
So with a little bit of knowlage i'd got off the shop i went about it myself.
The guitar was a Stag which was branded as RidgeWood and Fender Strat parts would fit..
I got on good old ebay and souced some pick up's.. £10 for 3
Then i found a video on how to fit them from all knowing Youtube
Then to cash coverters to buy an amp, string's and lead.
The neck was loose which i was told was importabt to get straight, but that want my only problem as the screw's had shared the thread's which did turn out to be an easy fix with some matches..
I got all the pick up's soldered in place and tested which it made a noise through amp..
Screwed the plate back on ready to fit string's tried again… no noise..
Dam..!!
Back off and a look about to realise the main earth/neutral had come off, so re-soldered that and was back on track..
Got the string's all on and tried to tune which was a pain.. as i'd work my way through the string's by the time i'd got to the last one the first one was out, did that a couple of time's, and decided to go for a smoke thinking the neck was wrong… But after my short break it decides to play ball… Amazing when that happen's…
Job done
Thought i never liked reading or writing but this has dragged on a tad, lol
Here's some pics
So now i have a new toy to make more noises on
Thanx SHaun
