Adi's winter hack - bmw e30 320i
Just thought I'd share what I'm driving while my beloved is in the garage. I bought this recently after a few months of discomfort using my wife's 6N polo, its a '89 320i auto 4 door, with only 85k, a load of history and is standard execpt for a chipped ECU. And I can confirm it does go sideways 8)
I'm absolutely loving it, and so is the missus (hence the L plates) its very smooth in every way, its silent inside, and has enough power to get past slow people not gonna mess with this one, the tow bar will be coming off (but kept as if we keep it then it can tow a trailer tent I'm planning wanting to buy next year), and it might get my golf's wheels if I pull my finger out and put some new tyres on them.
Just so you know I haven't forgotten about my mk1, I let it out for some daylight the other day, pic for proof

Well worth buying nowadays, I'd always go for the 6 pot as all the 4 pots are underpowered tbh, they're very reasonably priced now, and I've owned a lot of cars but nothing has ever been as quiet inside as this. I did have an e36 320iSE a few years ago but I never liked it as a manual and although the 24v has more power than my 12v, it never felt as powerful and just wasn't as nice to drive as this one.
