You take out your 1.8 engine and have it rebuilt.

You put it back in your car and it wont run so you fiddle with the timing.

Still wont run so you buy an injection engine and put that in.

Then you sell the 1.8 that wont run to a fellow member and tell them its runs fine.

I wouldnt do that, but some one has done it to me !!!

They wont learn otherwise.

I often wonder how people can live with them selves, i would never rip any body off.

Personally I'd speak to a moderator first then if anything sinister is going on they can be removed from the community in a couple of clicks.

how did the engine not run? if the engine has the compression and everything attached would just need setting up

Happened to me, brought a tuned 1800, took it apart to give it clean bill of health and it was shot! he gave me my money back but still wasted time stripping/cleaning/collecting.

Id name and shame!!!

Also id check the idle shaft it in the correct position, can be hard to time if you dont know what your doing.

spent 3 days sorting it but eventually got it running.
Had to take timing belt off and turn cam almost a quarter turn to get timing right ! Luckily it didnt bend any valves.

Then found that the oil pump wasnt working !

Just wish people were honest to start with to start with

Lol, yea the one I brought was 3 teeth out on cam, 180 deg out on idler pully.

Not going to name him he knows who he is !
