Well here goes!

For those of you who havent read my intro in the newbie section, here it is! :y:

Im 14 years of age and after a long time of nagging, my mum has finally allowed me to buy a project car!

my interest in cars comes from my dad, he is allways servicing friends cars or welding them up! Then over the last year or 2 a few of my mates have managed to get me very interested in old volkswagen's as the have quite a variety, cheers boys!

now, the golf i bought was the HOF that some or even most of you may know from Lawsy! he sorted me out with a great deal, cheers mate

This isnt going to be one of the fastest projects in the world. Being 14 i dont earn much money and i cant easily get a job! but i have the next couple of years before i can learn to drive anyway so i dont mind!

So on to the work!

well after buying the car i now have no money so i have made a start on the jobs that dont cost anything…

First job dewipering the tailgate because the person who had this tailgate before me (not Lawsy) cut the wiring to the wiper so i thought it would be easier to smooth it that to rewire it all!

First i sanded the the paint back to bare metal…

Then my dad tacked in a plate behind the two holes…

then i ground it back

i have now applied some filler and that is drying overnight, tomorow i shall sand it down and put up some more pictures :y:

RG18 4ET is my postcode :)

well tonight i thought i would get rid of the GTI on the badge on the tailgate as its not actually a GTI!…

this is how its was when i started…

so after taking off the badge and cleaning of a good 20 years worth of mould, i was left with this!

Then i ground down the bump/hole that i was left with that wasnt needed…

then i cut and filed down the badge! its not the best job in the world but i like it

Finally i put some filler over the hole, i probably should have put a blob of weld in there but it will do for the moment!

^ and this is what im left with at the moment, tomorow i shall sand it down and put up some more pictures.

with reguard to the dewipering in my last post i applied some more filler today as i was not happy with the finish
