throttle bodied, abf engined mk1

Starts and ticks over but needs a better map in the ecu to run properly, and as its going to be my daily i need a filtration system which is a bit of a challenge, filter socks will not do.

Looking smart mate. How much did the throttle bodies set you back?

Engine totally standard at this time, would like a flowed head but will keep standard cams as it must be useable, if i could get 170 ish bhp i would be happy.

sounds good! im plannin on puttin an abf into my mk1,, i would like throttle bodies, but will probably have to settle for bike carbs due to price. how was the wiring for throttle bodies? what sort of management are you using?

I am using emerald ecu, not the cheapest but computers/electronics confuse me so megasquirt not really an option. Instead of bike carbs, why not bike throttlebodies, surely relatively cheap.

I`m interested in this too as I have an ABF lump.

What are the bobble throtties from or who makes them and where did you get the manifold adaptor for them.

Thanks in advance for any further info.

BTW the Emerald ECU is a good un

Bobble throtties are jenvey, they do direct to head ones which save on the manifold but were slightly too long for what i wanted to achieve so i am using their ultra short ones. using a carb type manifold which isnt what i really wanted but i couldnt source a short enough one for throttle bodies. Prices are on the jenvey website.

ah that sounds good, especially for the powwer output your hoping for, sorry for all the questions but, how was the wiring for the ecu? i too am not too good with electronics, but really want to do it all myself.

The ecu came with some wiring instructions which were pretty easy to interpret, the good thing about the abf engine is it has a crank wheel/sensor as standard which saves some messing about.
